My Thoughts In My Words

Feels Great to Follow Five Photos Five Stories Challenge

♠ Posted by Abhijit Bangal in
I have been closely following the “Five photos Five Stories Challenge” that’s currently running. There are many of my blogger friends who are taking part in this. Not going into too many details, I would like to share a few thoughts regarding the same.
I have followed almost all the posts by many of my IB friends. I have not been able to comment on all of them due to lack of time. However, that doesn’t mean I am not reading them.
My fellow blogger Vishal Grover had tagged me in his post on FPFS that talked about Eating in Indian Style. Vishal blogs at Me Time Diary. It was indeed a pleasant surprise to get a mention from blogger on IndiBlogger. That’s really very very heartening.
Of late, I also got the opportunity to read my blogging mate Kokila Gupta’s FPFS on her blog Sunshine n Blue Clouds. That was one of the fantastic posts on FPFS (doesn’t mean it’s demeaning the others).
Though I have mentioned that I have followed posts from many fellow bloggers here, I must admit, I have been late in doing so. I don’t remember which FPFS post I read first. However, I have followed a majority of them.
People here are indeed very creative and it’s a great pastime to browse into some old posts too. I have bookmarked many blogs and go back to read old posts whenever I have time or feel low.
Great friends produce great posts!!!

What’s the Role of a Coach?

♠ Posted by Abhijit Bangal in ,,
This is one question that has always confused me, practically – what is the role of a coach? This would seem a bit sarcastic to say given our Indian culture, where the guru is of utmost importance. A teacher is given importance more than the God himself. They say, the guru can lead you towards God himself, so his place is above anyone and everyone.
But my ‘problem’ is a bit different. I need to know the EXACT roles coaches play? I am necessarily talking only about the IPL that is currently underway. I would like to point out the performance of Mumbai Indians in particular.
They have played four games in all till now and have lost all of them. However, I believe, in their last two games, they were a bit unfortunate to have lost the matches in spite of playing good and positive cricket.
Mumbai Indians boasts of one of the best support staff at the moment. Who are there to guide the players and give them the correct directions? There are two of the best batsmen the cricketing world has ever seen – Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting for batting and Anil Kumble for bowling. When it comes to fielding, there is also the ace fielder of his days in the world – Jonty Rhodes – the man who gave a new meaning to cricket fielding.
Not only about a particular team, but all teams have players that are well prepared to take on the opposition. I wonder what coaches would be ‘teaching’ and ‘advising’ players like Virat Kohli, Kieron Pollard, Glenn Maxwell and Chris Gayle. Do they need any tips on batting? How much does a batting coach contribute to the building of a batsman?
This does not mean I am raising question marks over the abilities or presence in the support staff. I just need honest answers as this is something that’s very confusing for me.

OMG! What a Twist to the Tale!

It was a dark night. Black clouds carrying ample water had started to gather in the sky. It looked like it would start raining any moment. Rakesh was all alone on the streets heading towards his home. It was not easy to travel alone when the atmosphere was threatening.
Clouds bumped into each other to make thunderous noise. It was enough to take the life out of someone. Lightening showed flashes and the authority of danger it posed. Rakesh was still more than five kilometers away from his home. Though he was on his bike, he was driving steadily as it started raining. He knew it would not take more than a few minutes before it starts to rain cats and dogs. After all he was accustomed to the weather conditions.
His fears came true. The drizzle bubbled into steady showers. Rakesh wanted to reach home faster as it was the only safe place in the world for him. But what was that? His bike started to hiccup. Looked like the machine was taking a bath in the rains, which was enough to bring sweat on his forehead in the heavy rains accompanied by cold weather.
As a filmy scene would show it, Rakesh realized something moving from a few meters from him. It was a strange figure that he had never seen before. By this time, it was pitch dark and his bike also gave way. He was completely drenched in the heavy rains. It could have been anybody and anything which could harm him.
He took a few steps away from where he was standing and tried to gauge what that thing was. However there was no way he could make it out. His curiosity got the better of his fear. Gathering courage, he moved in the direction of that unknown and interesting thing. However as he took a few steps, that thing moved a bit, but away from Rakesh.
He thought that it feared him. He automatically gathered more courage and confidently started walking in that direction. However, he wasn’t fast enough and there was no sound after that. A flash of lightening was enough for Rakesh to view a drenched road that was entirely deserted. It looked as if the strange thing suddenly vanished into thin air.
There was no hiding place around the path too. And the absence of that strange thing suddenly sent down shivers down Rakesh’s body. He looked around trying his best to find what moved around. Rakesh took out his mobile and turned on its battery in a desperate attempt to make sure he was safe on that lonely way that seemed to be heading nowhere.
He finally saw a figure that resembled a mongoose. It had a pair of long ears and long strands of hair all over its body. Its eyes were flashing in the darkness all around. That animal was making terrible faces at Rakesh and making strange noise, which was enough to get Rakesh goose bumps all over his body.
Taking three-four huge steps that mongoose-like animal leaped towards Rakesh….
Common now, friends. You have read enough of the story. We (and even I) have had enough of this. Now, be a Good Samaritan and transfer 200 bucks in my bank account. (I hope I entertained you [which I know I haven’t]).
Move on mates, the story’s over (hahahaha)!!!

CCTV Cameras 'Catch' Smriti Irani in Changing Room

In a shocking incident in Goa, union minister Smriti Irani was ‘caught’ in a changing room. She was in a fashion boutique Fabindia in the costal state of India. When the HRD union minister is also spied upon, how secure are the common women in India?
Well, this is just a rhetoric question. I – and only me, we all – do not expect any answer to this question. When on one hand Delhi is tagged as the rape capital of India, things aren’t any better in other parts of India.
3-4 people were held and taken in custody regarding the incident that took place in Calangute in north Goa, which is a beach resort. The incident came to light when the minister’s staff noticed the camera. It was strategically placed that pointed directly towards the changing room.
As soon as the police got the report, they sealed the shop as well as detained at least three to four people in question. However, the identities of the detained people were not disclosed for security reasons.
However, even such incident was looked at a political farce by Congress. Actually, it is understood that Goa is a safe place for women. But, this has become one of the high profile cases. Some reports also claim that the culprit camera was in place for at least four months.
This is really surprising as a camera is in place for four months and no one talks about it. It is only when these developments hardened today that it came to light. It is possible that there is a whole lot of footage stored in the computer’s hard disk that can potentially create problems for the customers who used the trial room unaware that they were actually being ‘spied on’.
Fabindia, on their part has come up with a statement condemning the incident. And also added that they will offer full support to the police in the investigations. It remains to be seen on whose ‘orders’ the camera was placed facing the trial room and what amount of punishment the people in question get.

Sunny Leone is becoming a Mainstream Bollywood Actress

Why do actresses like Sunny Leone find it hard to become mainstream Bollywood actresses after coming from an adult industry? Or should I say, we find it difficult to accept her in that way after seeing her past? There have been instances in the past when some specific actors/actresses have refused to work with her.
Some of the prominent names include Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan with whom Sunny wishes to work. The Khan trio is regarded as the highest in the industry for their sheer on screen performance. But then Sunny is also showing her acting side in Bollywood isn’t it?
After making her first appearance on the Indian TV show Bigg Boss, there has been no looking back for Sunny. Well, she might have got offers initially in the Hindi film industry just to grab some eyeballs, but then she is a real pro who wants to make her name as an established actress.
After Bigg Boss, she was seen in films like Jism 2, Jackpot followed by Ragini MMS 2. Pink lips, Laila and Baby doll are her recent item numbers that were instant hits.
And now her upcoming films are Ek Paheli Leela along with Kuch Kuch Locha Hai. As far as Ek Paheli Leela is concerned, the director of the film said that some big names in the industry have refused to work with the former porn star. However, as far as Sunny is concerned, she said that she doesn’t mind those things and keeps focusing on her job.
Really, shouldn’t we appreciate someone like Sunny Leone for her struggle to become a mainstream Bollywood actress irrespective of her past and who are refusing to work with her? She is indeed a brave girl.
