There literally looks no end to the ever increasing traffic
on the roads. The majority of the vehicles are either two-wheeler or
four-wheeler. We can see hundreds of meters of vehicles one after the other on
roads during peak traffic hours. The sheer thought of so many vehicles is
really frightening and alarming.
Frightening for the reason that we really know where we are
heading? It is indeed scaring at times to drive on crowded roads. Moreover, I have
experienced that many young boys are getting extremely irresponsible when
driving.
Keeping a check on the speed is a thing they have neither
been taught nor have they learnt. There is a high risk that they injure themselves
as well as someone else.
Such rash driving is also alarming is many times people –
especially the teenagers and college going chaps just do not have any fear or
do not think of the bad consequences that such driving can cause. They just don’t
have any fear. I had learnt during my college days that fear is one such
psychological thing that saves a person from attempting too risky things (apart
from the exceptions, of course).
But, it looks like today there are many daredevils on the
roads who take everything for granted. There are hundreds of thousands of road
accidents daily in India. It is high time road safety is put ahead of
everything else.
